Viagra Connect is a drug used to help increase the flow of blood to the penis in men who have difficulty getting or maintaining an erection, following sexual arousal. Taking it can help you enjoy a healthier sex life and reclaim intimacy.

When to Use Viagra Connect Tablets?

Viagra Connect tablets are highly effective medicines that treat ED in men who are 18 and over. If any of the following apply, you might find that Viagra Connect is a beneficial treatment:

  • Erectile Dysfunction: Viagra Connect isn't suitable for men without erection problems.
  • Sexual Stimulation: Viagra tablets don't cause erections alone, so you'll need to be aroused for them to work. If you struggle to get aroused, you may require an alternative treatment.
  • Medical Advice: Viagra Connect is available without a medical prescription, but you'll need an assessment first to determine whether it's suitable for you.

Viagra Connect Tablets Age Restrictions

Viagra Connect is suitable for adult men aged 18 and over. However, women shouldn't use Viagra as it's not designed for them.

How to Use Viagra Connect?

Viagra Connect is a pharmacy medicine; you'll need to complete an assessment before a prescriber issues it. Please always follow the instructions before using it:

  • Please take one 50mg tablet when needed. You should never exceed more than one tablet in 24 hours.
  • You should take the tablet with water around one hour before you plan to have sexual intercourse.
  • While you can take Viagra Connect with or without food, consuming a high-fat meal could mean that the medicine takes longer to work.
  • Foreplay is essential, as Viagra won't work unless you're aroused. However, it will usually take effect within 30 to 60 minutes. The effects can last for up to four hours.
  • If Viagra Connect doesn't work instantly, you should persevere and ensure you're suitably aroused.

When to Avoid Using Viagra Connect?

Viagra Connect is mostly an effective medication, but there are some cases when it may be best to avoid it. These include:

  • No Erectile Dysfunction: Viagra isn't a treatment that will enhance your sex life; it's for erectile dysfunction. If you don't have a diagnosis, you shouldn't take it.
  • Medical Conditions: Individuals with severe health problems, such as cardiovascular disease or recent strokes, should avoid using Viagra unless a medical professional recommends otherwise.
  • Low Blood Pressure: Sildenafil - the active ingredient in Viagra Connect - can cause the blood pressure to decrease, so your symptoms can worsen if you already have low blood pressure.
  • Nitrate Medicines: If you're using nitrate medications, you shouldn't take Viagra, as it can lead to fatal drops in blood pressure.

Precautions for Viagra Connect

If you're taking other medications, you should always seek medical advice before taking Viagra, as it may cause some interactions.

Individuals with blood cell disorders may be at higher risk of experiencing a painful and prolonged erection (also known as priapism).

You should also avoid drinking excessive amounts of alcohol when using Viagra, as it can increase the risks of side effects.

Viagra Connect Ingredients

Viagra Connect tablets have the active ingredient of sildenafil citrate (50mg). As a PDE5 inhibitor, it increases blood flow to the penis, which helps men achieve and maintain erections.

Inactive ingredients include:

  • Microcrystalline cellulose
  • Calcium hydrogen phosphate (anhydrous)
  • Magnesium stearate
  • Hypromellose
  • Croscarmellose sodium
  • Lactose
