Vardenafil 20mg, also called generic Levitra, is a medicine used to treat erectile dysfunction. Take it as a single dose approximately 30-60 minutes before sexual activity. Vardenafil tablets dilate the blood vessels in the penis to help you achieve an erection, but only work if there's sexual arousal - it will not boost sexual desire. Vardenafil, the generic version of Levitra, is a drug used to help increase the flow of blood to the penis in men who have difficulty getting, or maintaining an erection, following sexual arousal.

Take one Vardenafil tablet 30-60 minutes prior to sexual activity. You should never consume more than one Vardenafil tablet within a 24-hour period. Taking this medication on an empty stomach, or a low-fat meal increases the effectiveness of Vardenafil. Alcohol should be avoided when taking Vardenafil, as this can reduce its effectiveness.
Do not combine Vardenafil with other erectile dysfunction medication.

Dosage

The recommended dose of Vardenafil tablets is 10mg at least 30-60 minutes before sexual activity. The dose can be adjusted according to response, with a maximum dose of 20mg in a 24-hour period.

Patients taking medications for high blood pressure such as doxazosin should use a reduced dose of Vardenafil 5mg 30-60 minutes before sexual activity.

There is always a risk of side effects with all generic medications, including Vardenafil. Some of these can be quite mild and can subside over time. Others are more serious and should be reported to your GP right away if you experience any side effects. Please contact a member of our team if you are concerned about any potential side effects that may occur when taking Vardenafil.

Common side effects of this erectile dysfunction treatment may include:

  • Headaches
  • Flushing
  • Runny/stuffed nose
  • Nausea
  • Red and/or warm skin
  • Dizziness
  • Diarrhoea
  • Nosebleeds
  • Muscle pain or back pain

The side effects listed below are of a serious nature; you should stop taking Vardenafil erectile dysfunction treatment, and report these to your GP immediately.

  • After taking Vardenafil, you experience an erection that will not go away (priapism). If you have an erection that lasts more than 4 hours, get medical help immediately. Priapism can cause permanent damage to your penis.
  • Sudden vision loss in both eyes or one eye after taking Vardenafil. Sudden vision loss in both eyes or one eye can be a sign of a serious eye problem called non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy.
  • Sudden hearing decrease or hearing loss after taking Vardenafil. Some men may also have ringing in their ears (tinnitus) or dizziness.

Warnings

Vardenafil should not be taken in patients using Glyceryl trinitrate or Isosorbide mononitrate for the treatment of angina.

Do not exceed the daily recommended dose.

You should let a member of our team know if you are taking any other medications during your consultation, to ensure that the medication is suitable for use. Please let us know if you are taking Doxazosin, Alfuzosin, or Prazosin so that we can offer an appropriate dose.

Leaflets
