Strepsils lozenges consist of two antiseptic components: amylmetacresol and dichlorobenzyl. These mild antiseptics effectively eliminate bacteria related to mouth and throat problems. You should let each lozenge dissolve slowly on the tongue. By slowly dissolving the lozenge in the mouth, the active ingredients can coat the affected area, relieving scratchy throats and alleviating discomfort.

Short-term use of Strepsils helps to soothe sore throats and provide lubrication, but visit your GP if the symptoms persist for longer than three days.

Strepsils throat lozenges have few side effects if you stick to the recommended dosage. If you notice a tingling or burning in your mouth, stop taking the medication immediately and consult with a doctor.

Ingredients

Strepsils contain antiseptic ingredients that relieve sore throat pain but are less effective for a bacterial infection. If you have any signs of strep throat, you should visit a doctor for further advice.

The signs of strep throat include swollen glands, difficulty swallowing, white spots in the mouth and a high fever. Before taking the lozenges, read the included leaflet carefully and follow the storage instructions.
