When to Use Regaine Foam for Men?
Regaine for Men is a topical treatment for hereditary hair loss. It works by revitalising inactive hair follicles, but doesn't actively grow hair.
For this reason, you should begin treatment when you first notice signs of balding, including:
- Receding Hairline: The hairline may gradually recede from the temples or the forehead.
- Crown Thinning: The "swirl" on the back of your head is beginning to widen.
- Density Loss: When you see your scalp through your hair more clearly.
It works best if you've experienced gradual hair loss for under 10 years.
Age Restrictions for Regaine Foam
In most cases, Regaine Foam for Men is suitable for men aged between 18 and 49. The reason for this is due to the clinical trial cut-off. However, men aged 49-65 can use the Regaine traditional solution.
How to Use Regaine Extra Strength Scalp Foam For Hereditary Hair Loss?
When using Regaine Foam, please follow these instructions?
- Prepare: Make sure your scalp and hair are dry. Applying it when your scalp is damp can dilute the formula.
- Cool Your Hands: It's also important to cool your hands to ensure the foam reaches your scalp correctly. Warm hands may cause the foam to melt.
- Dosage: Apply twice daily. Each dose is 1g of foam (half a capful). Please stick to this amount. Using more foam won't make a difference.
- Application: Hold the can upside down and dispense the foam onto your cool fingers—this helps thin areas of your scalp and exposes as much skin as possible.
- Massage: Once you apply the solution, massage it into the scalp to help it absorb.
- Finish: Put the cap back on the bottle and store it upright. Wash and dry your hands thoroughly.
- Wait: Let your hair dry for at least 15-20 minutes before applying any products. You should wait at least four hours before washing your hair.
During the first two to six weeks of your treatment, it's common to notice more hair shedding. However, this is a normal process, as follicles need to shed old hairs for a new hair growth cycle.
When to Avoid Using Regaine for Hair Thinning?
While Regaine Foam for Men is safe for most people, there are some restrictions. These include:
- Medical Conditions: If you have a condition that impacts your blood pressure or a heart condition, you should avoid using the foam.
- Allergies: Avoid using Regaine Foam for Men if you're allergic to Minoxidil.
- Scalp Problems: You should never apply the foam if you have an inflamed, infected, or red scalp. This also applies to sunburn.
- Women: While some Regaine products are suitable for women, this formulation is intended for men only. Using it could cause excess hair growth and facial hair.
Precautions for Regaine Foam
Regaine isn't suitable for complete baldness. It's a treatment for hereditary hair thinning. If your hair loss is unexplained or due to a different reason, you shouldn't use it.
