When to Use Orlos 60mg Capsules?
Orlos 60mg Capsules contain orlistat, an effective weight-loss aid. They're suitable if you're trying to lose weight and are willing to commit to a low-fat, calorie-controlled diet.
They're only suitable if you have a BMI of 28 or higher and can commit to a maximum of 30% of your daily nutrition intake as fat.
Because the tablets work, you should only take them with a meal that contains fat. It's also important to remember that Orlos isn't a magic weight-loss drug; it complements a low-fat, calorie-controlled diet.
Age Restrictions for Orlos 60mg
Orlos 6mg tablets are suitable for adults over 18, and they're not clinically proven for use in children under 18. You should never administer it to a child or teenager, regardless of their BMI.
How to Use Orlos to Lose Weight?
Orlos is a powerful medication, and it's essential to follow the exact instructions to avoid side effects:
- Dosage: The recommended dose is 1 capsule 3 times daily, with a maximum of 3 capsules in 24 hours.
- Timing: Take each capsule with water before, during or after a meal.
- Meal Types: If you consume a meal that doesn't contain any fat or skip a meal, you shouldn't take an Orlos capsule. They're only designed to work with calorie-controlled diets. You should always eat lower-fat meals.
- Use Supplements: Orlos can affect nutrient absorption, potentially leading to vitamin deficiencies. Taking a daily multivitamin can reduce these effects.
Orlos works by preventing 25% of dietary fat from being absorbed, thereby promoting weight loss. However, if you consume high-fat meals, you could experience severe side effects.
These range from stomach cramps to oily spotting and urgent bowel movements.
Who Should Avoid Using Orlos 60mg Capsules?
Because Orlos contains orlistat, there are some cases when you should avoid it. These include:
- BMI below 28: If your BMI is under 28, Orlos isn't suitable for you.
- Pregnant or Breastfeeding: Please avoid using Orlos while you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Malabsorption Syndrome: Orlos can cause malabsorption problems. If you already have a condition, it can worsen your symptoms.
- Cholestasis: Individuals with this liver condition may experience bile flow blockages and worsening symptoms.
- Allergies: If you're allergic or sensitive to any of the ingredients in Orlos, you shouldn't use it.
- Certain Medications: Taking certain medications, such as Ciclosporin, Anticoagulants, or treatments for diabetes and heart conditions, or Orlos, isn't suitable.
Precautions for Orlos 60mg Capsules:
If any of the following apply, you should speak to a doctor or pharmacist before using Orlos:
- Kidney Disease: Medicines containing orlistat have a small risk of kidney stones in people with kidney problems.
- Diabetes: If you lose weight while using Orlos, your medication may need to be adjusted. That's why it's important to notify your doctor so they can monitor your condition.
- Epilepsy: Orlistat may affect the absorption of anti-epileptic drugs, which can increase seizure frequency.
- Thyroid Disease: Levothyroxine and orlistat may need to be taken at different times, and your thyroid levels should be monitored.
- Contraception: Some people experience diarrhoea while using Orlas, which means the contraceptive pill might not be absorbed.
