Malaria tablets treat malaria by preventing or destroying P. falciparum parasites present in red blood cells. The malaria parasite causes malaria, and once destroyed, is unable to infect the human body. Start a consultation with our online doctor to buy Malarone at Pharmacy Online.

Malarone tablets are used as both a malaria treatment and prevention. This makes Malarone a suitable medicine for tackling malaria before infection, as well as after illness. Due to this, many individuals are prescribed Malarone when travelling to high-risk countries where malaria is more common.

To prevent malaria, Malarone is taken 1 to 2 days prior to travelling to an area where malaria is more common. The medication is then taken daily during the time spent in that area, then for a minimum of 7 days following your leave.

As with any medication, there are possible risks of side effects when taking Malarone. Some of these are mild and mostly subside over time. Others may pose more serious risks and should be reported to your GP right away if experienced.

Please get in touch with a member of our team if you are concerned about any potential side effects that may occur when taking Malarone.

Common side effects of Malarone may include:

  • Vomiting
  • Fever
  • Abdominal pain
  • Dizziness
  • Disturbance to sleep
  • Nausea
  • Diarrhoea
  • Decreased appetite
  • Headache
  • Skin reactions

Malarone can sometimes lead to skin irritation, rashes and blisters. This can result in peeling skin, often occurring around the mouth. If you do begin to develop a rash, seek medical help immediately.
