Galpharm Blocked Nose Relief Spray offers long-lasting fast relief from symptoms of colds, catarrh and hayfever. It prevents mucus build-up and blocked noses, helping you to breathe freely for longer.
Most individuals tolerate Galpharm Nasal Spray well and experience no side effects. However, as with all medications, side effects can occur.
Discontinue using this nasal spray and consult your GP or visit your local A&E department promptly if you experience any of the following:
- Itchy skin or rashes.
- Swelling of facial features (nose, lips), throat or tongue.
- Burning or stinging of the nose accompanied by sneezing.
- Problems breathing or shortness of breath.
Other side effects
- Sore, irritated or dry feeling in your mouth, throat or nose.
- Eye redness, dryness, pain or irritation.
- Feel dizzy.
- Headache.
- Trembling, frailty or exhaustion.
- Apprehension, agitation, anxiousness, fear, grouchiness, insomnia, hallucinations or confusion.
- Visual impairment and flushing.
- Feel sick, vomit, reduced saliva production, not feeling hungry.
- Palpitations or irregular or rapid heart rate.
- Poor circulation such as cold hands or feet.
- Raised blood pressure.
Rebound congestion (if used over a prolonged period):
- Swollen mucosa (lining of the nose).
- Sneezing, itchiness and stuffy nose after the final dose of the spray.
If you notice any of these side effects, stop using the spray for more than seven consecutive days.
Local skin reactions:
- Galpharm includes thiomersal (a preservative), which may lead to discolouration around the nose and local skin reactions such as contact dermatitis.
- Allergic reaction (as above).
Cardiovascular and/or CNS effects
- Excessive and/or prolonged use exceeding seven days may result in CNS or cardiovascular symptoms.
