Galenphol Paediatric Linctus (2mg/5ml 90ml) is a non-productive cough suppressant designed to provide temporary relief from dry, irritating coughs in children between 3 months and 12 years of age. This orange-flavoured oral linctus (sweet liquid) formulation contains pholcodine, an opioid that effectively reduces the frequency and intensity of the cough. Not suitable for children under 3 months of age.

Galenphol Paediatric Linctus is a gentle yet effective solution to combat dry and irritating coughs in children aged 3 months - 12 years old. This orange-flavoured sweet liquid harnesses the power of pholcodine to suppress the cough reflex, offering temporary respite from an unproductive cough.

Like any medication, Galenphol Paediatric Linctus can cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them.

Possible side effects include:

  • Drowsiness
  • Dizziness
  • Excitation
  • Confusion
  • Sputum retention (difficulty coughing up phlegm)
  • Vomiting
  • Gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea and constipation)
  • Skin reactions, including rash

Rare side effects:

  • Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP), a serious skin reaction that can be life-threatening
  • Respiratory depression
  • Hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylaxis
