The Evra contraceptive patch, also known as the Ortho Evra contraceptive patch, releases a continuous dose of hormones into your bloodstream via your skin, regulating a woman’s cycle and stops pregnancy. This transdermal patch includes artificial progestogen and oestrogen, which work similarly to combined pills. The only difference is that you only need one Evra patch every week. Women of all ages can use the Evra patch.

The Evra contraceptive patch is useful for women who want to prevent pregnancy but do not want to take a pill every day. It can help to reduce heavy periods and pain associated with periods.

The Evra transdermal patch contains a combination of oestrogen and progesterone. It is applied once weekly for three weeks, followed by one patch-free week.

There is always a risk of side effects with all medications. Some of these can be quite mild and can subside over time.
