Evorel patches are an example of hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Evorel patches increase hormone levels within the body and alleviate the symptoms of menopause, such as sleep issues, night sweats, hot flushes, vaginal dryness, and mood swings. This hormone replacement therapy is suitable for women who have reached menopause and contains the active ingredient estradiol, which mimics the female sex hormone oestrogen.

HRT patches can be oestrogen-only or can contain both oestrogen and progesterone. They are useful for women who may not remember to take a tablet daily, or that experience side effects with oral therapy.

There is always a risk of side effects with all medications, and an Evorel patch is no exception. Some of these can be quite mild and can subside over time. Others are more serious and should be reported to your GP right away if you experience any side effects. Please contact a member of our team if you are concerned about any potential side effects that may occur when using HRT patches.

Side effects may include:

  • Vaginal discharge
  • Menstrual cycle irregularities
  • Abdominal pain
  • Weight changes
  • Mood changes

Leaflets

Before taking any medicines, regardless of whether they are over-the-counter or prescription-only, it is essential always to read the patient information leaflet.
