Please follow these instructions when using Estradot:

1. Preparation: Make sure your hands are clean and find a hairless patch of skin below the waistline. Popular areas include the lower abdomen, buttock, or thigh.
2. Application: Open the pouch carefully and avoid cutting it. Remove the protective backing from your patch, then press the sticky side onto your skin. Remove the rest of the backing and hold the patch to your skin for 10 seconds.
3. Using the Patch: You should wear the patch at all times, including while swimming, showering, and bathing. However, if you're out in the sun, it's important to cover the patch up and ensure it's not exposed to direct sunlight.
4. Changing the Patch: You should change your Estradot patch twice a week (every three to four days).

When to Avoid Estradot?

Estradot patches are usually safe, but all forms of HRT come with some risks.

If any of the following apply to you, avoid using them or seek medical advice.

Avoid Estradot if:

• You have a history of breast cancer or estrogen-dependent tumours, as hormone replacement patches can stimulate cancer growth.
• You're experiencing unexplained vaginal bleeding - a doctor should assess your symptoms and test for underlying conditions first.
• You have or are being tested for endometrial hyperplasia (thickened womb lining).
• You're at higher risk of developing blood clots or have a blood clotting disorder.
• You have cardiovascular disease or liver problems.
• You're allergic to any of the ingredients in Estradot.

Precautions

Please contact your doctor for advice before using Estradot if:

• There's a history of breast cancer in your family.
• You've been diagnosed with a benign breast condition before - such as cysts, nodules, and lumps.
• You have endometriosis, as high amounts of estrogen can worsen your symptoms.
• You've been diagnosed with benign uterine tumours or fibroids.
• There's a family history of blood clots, or you're at increased risk of developing them.
• You have high blood pressure - your doctor will want to get it under control before prescribing Estradot.
• You've had a seizure before or have epilepsy.
• You're experiencing severe headaches or migraines and don't have a previous diagnosis of them.

Ingredients

Estradot patches contain estradiol (as hemihydrate) as the active ingredient. The amount depends on the strength you use, with average patches containing 25 to 100 mcg. Inactive ingredients include adhesives and backing layers.
