Canesten thrush pessary and external cream is an effective combination therapy that is designed for women who have had a previous diagnosis of thrush. It works by treating both the internal and external symptoms associated with thrush. Canesten thrush combi contains the active ingredient clotrimazole which is an antifungal compound designed to eradicate the bacteria known for causing thrush. It consists of a pessary which is inserted vaginally as a one-off single dose and a cream that is used to treat the external itch around the vagina.

Both the Canesten thrush combi pessary and cream may cause irritation of the skin if the patient is sensitive to clotrimazole.
