Calpol Infant Suspension (sugar-free) is one of the most widely recommended products for treating fevers and pain in babies. Its easy-to-administer liquid form comes with a sugar-free formula, making it a gentle option for little ones. Calpol works in as little as 15 minutes to bring down a raised temperature and soothe other aches, helping your child feel more comfortable, whether it’s due to teething, colds, or post-vaccination reactions.

Calpol Infant Suspension is usually well tolerated, but as with all medicines, there’s a small chance of side effects.

Common side effects: Skin rashes or redness, mild stomach discomfort, or nausea.

Rare but serious side effects:

  • Allergic reactions, including swelling of the face, lips, or throat, difficulty breathing, or severe skin reactions (such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome).
  • Liver damage: This is very rare and usually only happens with long-term use or in cases of overdose.
  • Blood disorders: Rare blood issues like thrombocytopenia (low platelet count) have been reported in some users. If your child exhibits any of these symptoms, seek medical advice.

If you notice any unusual side effects, stop giving the medicine and speak to your doctor immediately. For any concerns or questions, our Pharmacy Online team is available to help.
