Buccastem M is an anti-sickness tablet used to treat nausea associated with a migraine. It works by easing the feeling of being sick (vomiting) and feeling sick (nausea) triggered by migraines and can be used by adults aged 18 and over. A migraine is a severe headache, usually, on one side of the head, that causes moderate to severe pain. It can also make you sensitive to light or noise. Buccastem contains the active ingredient prochlorperazine, which will begin to work in roughly 30 to 60 minutes.

Buccal tablets are the branded version of prochlorperazine. It is a tablet that is used t alleviate symptoms associated with nausea due to migraine. Due to the convenient buccal tablet formulation, the effects of Buccastem M are fast acting.

Like all medicines, Buccal tablets can cause side effects although not everybody will experience them. If you experience any of the following side effects you should stop taking Buccastem M and contact your doctor immediately:

  • Symptoms of an allergic reaction such as rash and swelling of the face, tongue, or throat
  • A high temperature, pale complexion, muscle stiffness, and changes in levels of alertness
  • Convulsions
  • High blood pressure
  • Signs of infection, such as shivering, headache, sweating, high temperature, flushing, a sore throat or mouth, and swollen glands
  • Blood clots in the veins especially in the legs
  • Symptoms of decreased sodium concentration in the blood
