Benylin Chesty Coughs Original syrup alleviates chest coughs and soothes sore throats. It contains diphenhydramine (an antihistamine) that relieves coughing and suppresses secretions in your nasal passageways and chest; while levomenthol (a decongestant) helps you to breathe more comfortably by easing congestion. It's suitable for adults and children aged 12 or over, and contains diphenhydramine and levomenthol.

Benylin Chesty Coughs Original is used to relieve coughing and associated congestion symptoms. Diphenhydramine, an antihistamine, helps reduce dry mucus in your nasal passages and coughing. Levomenthol has gentle cooling properties and allows you to breathe more effortlessly by loosening congestion in the nasal passages and lungs.

Benylin Chesty Coughs Original may cause the following side effects:

  • Sleepiness.
  • Dizziness.
  • Stomach upsets (diarrhoea, queasiness, being sick, constipation or stomach discomfort).
  • Mouth, throat and nose dryness.
  • Problems when urinating.
  • Visual disturbances (blurriness).
  • Rapid heartbeat (palpitations).
  • Tremor.
  • An allergic response, like itchiness or a rash.
