When experiencing dry irritating coughs, suitable medication is hard to come by - but Bell's treats a range of coughs, including chesty coughs and an unproductive dry cough. Bell's Simple Linctus remedy is only suitable for people over 12, but there's a version for children too.

Adults and children over 12 should take one or two 5ml doses up to four times daily. NEVER take more than recommended, as it could lead to unwanted side effects.

All medications can have some side effects, and most are mild. However, if you notice any of the following and they don't subside, it's best to go to the doctor or seek emergency support:

  • Allergic reactions
  • Upset stomach
  • Drowsiness or dizziness
  • Interaction with other medications

Warnings

When using Bells Simple Linctus, it is vital to be aware of potential interactions with other medications. Consult your healthcare provider if you take any of the following:

  • Sedatives and Tranquilisers
  • Monoamine oxidase inhibitors
  • Other cough and cold medicine

Most importantly, always read the information leaflet before taking the medication; there could be dosing exceptions for the elderly.
