Beechams Flu Plus Caplets contain three active ingredients, including 500mg of paracetamol, 25mg of caffeine and 5mg of phenylephrine hydrochloride. Paracetamol is a painkiller (analgesic) that lessens body temperature due to a fever (antipyretic). Phenylephrine hydrochloride (a decongestant) clears your sinuses and nose. Caffeine acts as a mild stimulant to reduce drowsiness and exhaustion. Beechams Flu Plus Caplets are suitable for adults and children aged 16 or above.

Paracetamol infrequently causes any issues. However, allergic reactions, like skin rashes sometimes occur. Very rarely, you may experience a blood disorder, but these are not necessarily due to paracetamol.

Other rare side effects from taking Beechams Flu Plus include increased blood pressure, feeling dizzy, headache, upset stomach, insomnia and rapid heartbeat caused by phenylephrine.

Should you experience these or additional uncommon symptoms, discontinue taking Beechams Flu Plus Caplets, and inform your GP or pharmacist immediately.
